50 Words a Day Challenge

by Deedlit in Challenges

I don’t know about anyone else, but for me this year is simply flying by! That’s both good and bad!Anyway, it’s nearly challenge time again… 1 week today we’ll be kicking off our second 50 word a day challenge. Last September, I found this challenge really good for kicking me into doing some words every day. They weren’t always good words, but it was an excellent way to get me into a writing discipline. Therefore, I hope we can get a good turn out for this challenge! The idea is that you write 50 words a day (more if you can, obviously!). ‘50 words isn’t much!’ I hear you cry! Just remember you thought that when we’re part way through the month and you think ‘I don’t have time to do this today…’Part of writing is getting into a writing routine. Most of us don’t have time in our daily lives to sit and write for huge long stretches at a time every day. All of us write at different speeds. However, for most of us, 50 words a day should be a more than realistic goal. So, just for May, motivate yourself to get into a writing routine and join in the fun :-)

March Challenge

by Deedlit in Challenges

March’s challenge is going to revolve around the Post Secret website (http://postsecret.blogspot.com/). New secrets are posted each Sunday. So, for each Sunday in March the challenge is to pick one of the secrets and use it to spark your writing; be that a bought of timed, free writing, a short story, a poem, or anything else that you might want to write! If you want to, share your writing with us in your thread on the challenge board, or over on the snippets board. Even if you don’t, let us know each week how working with the secrets are prompts went for you.I hope that the March challenge will be inspirational to us all!Good luck and happy writing.
